Development of a Core Descriptor Set for studies on treatment of
Diabetes-related Foot Ulceration
Dear Colleagues,
The aim of our study is to collect your views as to what are the key patient characteristics which should be routinely reported by studies assessing interventions for diabetes-related foot ulceration. Your views will be used to help create a Core Descriptor Set which will allow comparison between studies assessing different treatments for diabetes-related foot ulcers.
The survey contains a wide range of descriptors which have been reported in studies assessing treatments for diabetes-related foot ulceration. Each descriptor will be ranked on a scale from 1 to 9 with values corresponding to the following statements:
Values 1 to 3 - Descriptor not considered to be important (for definite exclusion from the core descriptor set)
Values 4 to 6 - Important but not a critical descriptor
Values 7 to 9 - Critical descriptor (for potential inclusion in the core descriptor set)
Once we have collated all responses for Round 1 of this survey, we will contact you again via email for a further round of responses to reassess your views on the descriptors for which no consensus was reached.
Thank you for taking your time and participating in our study.
